Here are some answers to some common inquiries.
Q: When does the Pantsathon star?
A: October 22, 2007
Q: So...uh...like how long do we wear these pants?
A: Until you quit.
Q: Wait a sec, there's a buy in?
A: It shouldn't be that big of a deal. The buy in will be around $3 so that we can have a pot of money for the winner. I don't
think that $3 isn't asking too much. The purpose of the buy-in is to motivate participants to stay in the competition. If
we have around 40 people, paying $3 each then that's $120, and who couldn't use that?
Q: Can we wear shorts?
A: Nope. It's a Pantsathon means long pants. There are just too many complications involved with allowing shorts to be worn.
Some very rare exceptions may be made.
Q: Can I go in the rain/pool/etc to wash the pants?
A: There is absolutely no washing of the Pantsathon pants. Scrubbing is prohibited. The extent of pants-hygiene is that participants
are allowed to brush off crumbs or stuff like that with their hands. If you get your Pantsathon pants wet via the inevitable
rain/snow you are only allowed to gently dry them off, as to remove the moisture but no debris.
Q: Do I have to wear my pants to work/chorus/etc?
A: You have two options: You can either wear your pants (hide them under other, snazzier pants if necessary) or you can quit
the competition if necessary.
Q: Can we sew or patch our pants if they rip?
A: The only completely legal ways that you could sew or patch ripped pants is if you are sleeping, "checking your e-mail,"
exercising, or getting some "pudding" while you are mending them, or if you are wearing them as you mend them. However, patches
are only allowed if you use material taken from a different part of the pants.
Q: What is the Security Council?
A: The Security Council, made up of Abbey Denlinger, Will Gumbiner, Jay Taylor, and Simeon Tzolov, basically run the Pantsathon.
They collaborate to make executive decisions, such as writing Amendments to The Rules, deciding if someone has broken a rule,
and also have the power to perform random checks at a participant's home to ensure the integrity of his or her pantsitude.
Q: How much are shirts?
A: An accurate quote cannot be obtained until all participants have registered and have signified on their registration form
whether he/she wants a shirt and if they do, what size. Until this has happened, the cost of shirts is unknown.
